So in 2014 i was a victim of a fraud. An old friend had taken my bank debit card (chase) & deposit fake checks into my account & withdraw the funds. Later on my account was close & i was report to chexsystems. I tried getting help but the bank just wants the money back. I tried to dispute it since i didnt autorize the transactions & i was told i cant do nothing about it since "my friend" knew my pin number & that stated that i did authorize it.l i refuse to pay it because i didnt do this myself. My mistake was trusting people with personal information..
So my question is, if i don't pay it off would checksystems sell my debt to a collection agency?
I dont want my credit to be affected for this! :/ i just dont see it fair that no one was willing to help! Even the police deny help, cameras could of been check & a more deep investigation should of have been done.
